Overview
A film-company identity across van livery, merch and stationery.
A retro script mark applied to a vehicle wrap, helmet, mug, t-shirt and rubber stamp.
The Challenge
Twin Cam Films needed an identity that felt like a film company, not a corporate supplier with a camera in the corner of the logo. The name asked for character. The applications asked for toughness.
The brand had to work at very different scales. A van wrap is read at ten metres. A rubber stamp is read at ten centimetres. A helmet, a mug and a t-shirt sit somewhere in between. One drawing had to survive all of them.
Film crews live in the physical world. If the identity only exists as a social avatar, it is not doing the job. Twin Cam needed livery and objects that travel with the people making the work.
The tone had to stay on the right side of costume. Retro script can look like a tribute act. The challenge was to make it feel current, useful and repeatable across print, paint and fabric.
Our Solution
We drew a vintage script wordmark for Twin Cam, with a simple FILMS lock-up underneath, and built a small palette of powder blue, cream and black around it.
The van became the hero application: a large cream mark along the side so the company is visible in a car park, on a road and outside a location. That is branding as logistics, which is exactly how a film company is seen.
The same mark went onto a helmet, a mug, a t-shirt and a stamp. Those pieces let the identity show up on set, in a meeting and in the post. Nothing extra was invented for each item. The lock-up just held.
The result is a brand that can leave the studio. It looks like Twin Cam Films whether it is six feet high on a van or an inch high in ink.
