Overview
UI for 1-2-1 video chat and live broadcasts.
A playful mobile app design for a social video platform, with illustrated characters, live streaming and a discovery feed.
The Challenge
Peacock needed a mobile product that made live video feel like a game people wanted to join, not a dark studio tool. One-to-one chat and live broadcasts for “superstars” had to sit in the same app without confusing first-time users.
Social video is crowded. If the identity is bland, the app disappears. If it is only illustration, the actual product, profiles, views and search, never gets designed. Peacock needed both a character and a working interface.
Discovery is the silent failure in this category. People will not broadcast into an empty room, and they will not watch if they cannot find anyone. A feed with profiles, view counts and status needed as much care as the splash screen.
The tone had to stay playful. Crowns, characters and colour were part of the product idea. The challenge was to keep that playfulness once real user names, photos and posts arrived on the screen.
Our Solution
We designed a bright identity around a pink crest and simple bird characters, then built app screens that use that world from the first splash. The brand is the interface, not a logo sitting above a grey form.
Feature screens spell out the two core offers: 1-2-1 video chat and Superstars live broadcasts. Each has its own colour and composition so a new user can understand the product in a couple of panels.
The social feed brings the idea down to earth: search, profiles, view counts, posts and hashtags. It is where the illustrated world meets real people, which is the moment a concept becomes an app.
Together the screens give Peacock a complete first impression: who it is, what you can do, and who is already there. Playful on the surface, structured underneath.
