BCS was managing six separate websites, each built on a different platform, which created significant challenges for their digital operations. Maintaining multiple systems independently not only consumed valuable time and resources but also made it difficult to ensure consistency across their brand messaging and user experience. This fragmented approach hindered the ability to quickly update content or implement cohesive marketing strategies, leading to inefficiencies and increased operational complexity.
Beyond the technical challenges, the user experience across these sites was inconsistent and lacked modern design principles, making navigation confusing and less engaging for visitors. BCS recognised that this disjointed experience could impact their ability to effectively communicate with their audiences and meet their evolving digital needs. They sought a solution that would bring all six websites together into a single, manageable platform, allowing for streamlined maintenance, better scalability, and a significantly improved, unified user experience that would enhance engagement and support their business goals.
To address BCS’s challenge, we developed a Magento multistore system that unified their six individual websites under one centralised platform. This approach allowed each website to maintain its unique identity and branding while being managed through a single backend, simplifying content updates, product management, and overall maintenance. Early in the process, we carefully planned the structure and connections between the stores to ensure seamless navigation and efficient workflow for both users and administrators.
A key focus was on maintaining brand consistency across all sites while allowing for distinct variations. To achieve this, we designed one flexible theme that adjusted its colour scheme and minor stylistic elements for each store but preserved the overall look and feel. This method created a cohesive brand experience that resonated across all websites, helping users recognise the company’s presence regardless of which store they visited.
Product organisation was another critical area we improved. We restructured the product catalogues to ensure clarity and ease of use, making it simple for customers to find what they were looking for. We prioritised a streamlined path to purchase by designing the user journey so that no matter where a customer started, they could reach the checkout in three clicks or fewer. This reduction in friction was essential in boosting customer satisfaction and minimising drop-off during the buying process.
Improving the overall user experience was central to our work. By analysing user behaviour and implementing best practices in UX design, we created intuitive navigation, faster load times, and clearer calls to action. These enhancements made the websites more accessible and enjoyable to use, encouraging visitors to explore more products and engage more deeply with the content.
As a result of these combined efforts, BCS saw a marked increase in conversion rates and customer engagement. The new Magento multistore platform not only simplified their internal operations but also delivered a more compelling and efficient shopping experience for users, positioning BCS for continued growth and success in their online retail efforts.
The Magento multistore solution we implemented for BCS successfully transformed their fragmented online presence into a unified, easy-to-manage platform. By combining consistent branding, streamlined navigation, and an optimised checkout process, we significantly enhanced the user experience and boosted conversion rates. This project not only improved operational efficiency for BCS but also strengthened their ability to engage customers effectively across multiple markets. With a scalable and user-friendly platform now in place, BCS is well positioned to continue growing and adapting in the competitive e-commerce landscape.
